Diffuser: Add 6-8 drops to your diffuser to refresh the senses and promote mental clarity.
Massage: Use a 1% dilution; 20 drops per 100ml/3. 38fl.oz carrier oil as a maximum. Peppermint has a strong aroma and powerful effect, therefore a small number of drops is enough to provide therapeutic effect.
Bath: Add up to 2 drops, in a dispersant such as oil, to the bath.
Hand or foot bath: Add 1 to 2 drops of essential oil to a bowl of water. For inflammation consider using cold/room temperature water. For aches and tight muscles use warm/hot water.
Steam treatment (respiratory system): Add 1 drop of essential oil to a bowl of steaming hot water. Use caution due to risk of burns or scalding, and keep eyes covered during treatment as peppermint steam may cause irritation
Compress: To a bowl of water add 2 drops of essential oil. For treating inflammation or to cool down use cold to room temperature water, for aching tight muscles use warm to hot water. Soak a face washer in the water, wring out excess moisture and apply washer to the affected area, repeat two or three times as the compress cools down or warms up.
Considerations:
Avoid during pregnancy and is not recommended for babies and small children. Peppermint oil is an antidote to homeopathic remedies and should be avoided during homeopathic treatment.
